Good episode
I thot axle would do a goonies: chunk confession.
Did you guys not catch the video of Andrea and Michone(sp) being driven back to that city blindfolded In a truck? On the Talking Dead it showed Andrea’s point of view catching a clear glimps of Merle in the passenger seat of the truck looking back at her. If this is the same timeline then Merle probably isn’t looking at Carol in the prison.
To me it was clear that she was being watched from inside the prison.
Looked like someone was looking from the trees (and there aren’t any trees inside the fence). I’ll have to rewatch.
personally, it wouldn’t surprise me if there was someone in the prison watching her. after all, we had that comment Daryl made in the first episode, talking about “civilians in the prison”. that had to be there for a reason
I personally think this was the best episode of your podcast ever! :)
Looking at that scene again, it was someone watching from outside.
yeah, i just noticed that myself this morning Jason. but they did see how Carol got a walker into the prison, so it wouldn’t surprise me if the “Killer Within” was slightly ironic and it was actually someone from outside who managed to get into the prison via the fence
Hey Jason, you are definitely right about zombie bites – they do kill you, and yeah, it might take a couple of days, but if you get bitten, you’re done. Morgan spelled out what I think is the “rule” on it in the pilot when he said to Rick, “one thing I do know – don’t you get bit. Bites kill you. The fever burns you out. But then after a while… you come back.”
So if everyone is infected, they’ll turn when they die (of any cause), whether that’s today or in 10 or more years. But if you get bitten or scratched today, you’ll be a zombie in a very short time and you’re going to feel pretty sick and terrible for the short remainder of your life too!
A little geeky side note about Wil Wheaton being a guest on “Talking Dead” – he and Chris Hardwick were college roommates. They talked about it once on the Nerdist podcast.
I used that same analogy of gangrene to defend Rick’s decision to chop off Hershel’s leg. Yes, they are all infected. They turn when they die. What causes them to die when they are bit? Maybe their carrier status weakens their immune systems. Strike one. The walkers are nothing more than animated cadavers- just what kind of bacteria are they passing when they bite you? I’d say that’s why it works so fast- nasty bug that the body just can’t handle, that multiplies at the site and then overwhelms the victim (unless you quickly cut off the bitten appendage). Strike Two. Lastly, bites like what Jim and Big Tiny got could not be amputated, so they had no chance. Strike Three. You’re out.
Speaking of Big Tiny, I will say I thought Rick should have spoken up at once and told them to just put him in a cell to himself- or at least given the man a choice. I heard one of them say something to that effect, but it should have been Rick and he should have been decisive about it. But then, I guess Psycho wouldn’t have had an opening to mutilate the poor man’s head, and then Nicole would have to figure out another way to expose the depth of his criminal psychosis.
Yeah looking at it again the zombie girls feet were pointing towards the tower and the thing looking at carol had the tower and feet to his left.. You can see carol walking in and it puts the watcher outside the fence.
SFJ I think what you mentioned with regards to the late Big Tiny (RIP) really shows how torn Rick is / was over the prisoners. At the point where Big T got scratched (hell of a scratch btw) Rick did not want to kill them but he knows things would be less risky if he did. Unfortunate circumstance was Big T seemed ok but he broke ranks and could have gotten everyone in trouble… when working in a group someone must always cover the 6 / rear guard. They were all facing forward, Big T`s cowardice may have saved them.
