One thing Karen mentioned was that for Rick, since he woke in the hospital “no one” has been friendly. That’s not quite true… Hershel and his farm. ;) Love the show… after listening to all the available podcasts, you guys are my favorite. :) You are to the Walking Dead podcasts what Ryan and Jen were to Lost podcasts.
Thanks Garett! Good point about the farm. Can’t believe I didn’t think of that in the moment….
Curious, did you ever listen to Jay and Jack?
Yes, I noticed that too. And the Vatos were okay in the end, but it could easily have gone the other way. Quite frankly, as mean as people can be right now, when there’s no law and order to keep folks in check, I would automatically make the assumption that pretty much anyone is up to no good. Not saying you should kill everyone you encounter, but when they try to kill you twice….
Hershel was helpful due to circumstance…. Otis accidentally shooting Carl created a crisis to which he responded in a helpful manner. After that how many times did he want them gone? He referred to them as a plague. Its a little less than friendly where I come from. Eventually, they may have made nice with with the Vatos but initially it was very hostile…. they had a kidnapping, a beating a crossbow bolt stuck in man`s buttocks & a Mexican standoff with real Mexicans… not exactly rolling out the welcome mat there either. I got Karen`s back on this one I don`t think anyone has been “friendly” on first contact…. I would say maybe Otis because he did immediately render help after shooting Carl but first contact was the bullet & I don`t believe in friendly fire.
