You all know exactly who we are.
Yeah you do.
Now. Say our name.
You’re god damn right! This episode we’re joined by Jason’s former Breaking Bad ‘Cast co-host Lissy to (finally) cover the episodes 4-8 of the final season of that excellent show.
For the uninitiated, don’t worry, we also talk about a lot of TWD- and zombie-related stuff, including our thoughts on the newly announced showrunner, Scott Gimple. And we throw in some non-sequiturial chatter for good measure. Microbrew anyone?
As always, if you’d like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD, or you can email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com.

Glad to hear the new cast… The segment on micro brews was tip top. As much as you guys bet beers I figured you could do a minute or two on one of the great beverages the world has to offer. Was slightly surprised Karen was the resident expert (Tipping my cap & my frosty mug to u Karen) but really who doesn’t enjoy an ice cold brewski? (OK, some people don’t and that’s OK) Please drink responsibly and DGB. :-)

J&K: It took me a while, but I finally figured it out that it is YOUR fault that I’ve been so terribly behind on laundry lately! Without the weekly podcasts to listen to as I fold, I had fallen behind. I just matched 50+ pairs of socks and folded almost all of the laundry while listening to the latest podcast. Thanks for making my life much less dreary. :) Also, Karen, you should totally check out Six Feet Under – I really enjoyed it. If you do, tell me if you think Billy Chenowith reminds you of Jason. :p

As in *looks* like Billy, not acts like Billy. (thought that was an important distinction, lol) :D

Six Feet Under is a truly amazing show… and yes, I could see the Jeremy Sisto connection there. Must be the hair….

And for the record… The Blahgs love J&K too!! Karen, Maggie is now obsessed with Dr. Who (I still haven’t watched it) and keeps asking when we will see you again so she can chew your ear off.

Gracie, I totally know what you mean. I couldn’t weed my garden without podcasts. Or commute, for that matter. Oh, and I absolutely will check out Six Feet Under. I love that we have a listener that plays the podcast while embalming bodies – totally appropriate, right? :) Karen

Hey Erik! Tell Maggie she’s one of the coolest young ladies I know. And I’ll chat with her about Dr Who anytime. :). BTW – jump on board – DW is delightfully addictive. :) Karen

I loved the podcast as usual. I disagreed with Jason on a couple things. I love the JJ Abrams Star Wars selection and the car scene in Breaking Bad is one of my least favorite of the entire series. I think the show does so much well but that scene stands out to me as a big ole fail. Its not because of the dubstep either.

I couldn’t make it past the living trashcans. I think that was Ep. 1. I did try American Horror Story, but quit after about 4 episodes. The first Ep was excellent, but it got too ‘freak of the week’ for me. I did hear S2 was excellent, though.

I found you guys by listening to the Talking Dead podcasts when you guested (?) withJason and Chris. Enjoyed YOUR podcast tonight at 1am in Chugiak AK. It’s 10 below zero here tonight (hey! Just cause you can’t talk about the weather doesn’t mean I can’t…) and I’m wondering how safe that makes me from the inevitable zombie apocalypse-surely they’d just freeze up, right? Great show- loved all the segments. You’ve got a new ‘friend’ and listener!

I’m excited that Jason connected with Chris Hardwick. I hope to hear a podcast with him soon, Nerdist network has introduced me to a lot of nerd joy in my life.

Hey Justin I’ve heard other people say they don’t like that scene, too. I think it’s polarizing. It felt really self-indulgent on the editors’ part, which I thought was appropriate because the scene was all about extreme, over-the-top self indulgence. But, good to have dissenting opinions :) Why didn’t you like it?

Gracie, are you talking about season 1 or 2 of AHS? I don’t remember that scene. Anyways, I liked S1 but loved S2. But, it’s pretty far from TWD. In some ways, the opposite. Where TWD is grounded and measured, AHS is chaotic, fast-paced, and far-out to the point of being farcical or campy. My two favorite things about it are how disturbing it is, and how it repeatedly pulls the rug out just when you think the good guys are going to win.

Jason, when will you be posting the audio from your Las Vegas trip?

Jason, the living trashcans comment was about Doctor Who. As far as AHS goes, I may give it another chance. Several people said that S2 was better than S1. It may turn out to be too disturbing for me; although, that is not what turned me off of S1.

Hey, I thought I replied to this…. Oh well, so, yeah that’s not what turned me off of S1 either. I thought it started out great but lost it’s edge somewhere in the middle. And it was random (but so is S2 :)

I’m dubious about JJ Abrams. Never watched Alias, but heard it was uneven. Alcatraz sucked. Lost was wildly uneven, IMO (and was mostly Lindelof and Cuse anyway). I’ve heard Fringe is good but esoteric. I thought Super 8 was okay, but felt like a pale imitation of a Spielberg movie, and I don’t want new Star Wars movies to be pale imitations. Reviews for MI:III (which I never saw) were mostly good, but not stellar. I really liked MI:4 and hoped the director of that movie, Brad Bird (who also directed The Incredibles and Ratatouille), would be the new Star Wars director. IMO, the new Star Trek is the best thing Abrams has done. And it was really good. So, that gives me hope. If not for that, though, I’d be pretty bummed right now.

The best news about this is that (so far anyway) Damon Lindelof didn’t come with Abrams as a package deal like he did with the upcoming Star Trek flick. End snark.
Jean, thanks for reminding me. Just posted it at walkingdeadcast.com .
FOR REAL?! YEAH!
