I'm wondering about Merel Dixon and thinking since I'm hearing a lot of talk about the governor that, Merel may actually replace this "Philip" character and become "the governor" in this series"... He does play a vengeful man full of hatred which would add more problems for them

@Andy - I don't think there is such a thing as a "smart zombie". In a recent Interview Kirkman said that his view Is that the variations you see (looks, mobility, ferocity, etc) are all based on the level of decomposition, so the faster zombies are those that are 'fresher' and have a lower degree of rigamortis. Also, the consumption of living flesh does not sustain them or nourish the zombies in any way, so I would imagine that most zombies would decay to the point of bicycle girl eventually, and the only 'agile' zombies you would find are the newly turned. After listening to the interview I started to agree more with Herschel in that this is something that can be waited out (I'm not a believer in the natural correction aspect though...), and eventually all of the zombies would "die out" in a sense (or rather their bodies would decompose to the point where the muscles could no longer function, rendering them immobile and harmless). Btw I've not read ahead in the comic either, this is me speculating on the direction of the tv show, but as I understand it from Jason's spoilers they never truly reveal the source of the outbreak/infection/resurrection/whatever in the comic so they may be leaving it ambiguous enough to where they don't have to adhere to any specific set of rules. Like they did for the resurrection times in Jenner's explanation...

Conversely, if the zombies in this series never decay to that extent then that points pretty strongly to some supernatural element...which would annoy the hell out of me since it's only a matter of time before we see skeleton armies...and at that point Merl will come back with a chainsaw attached to his stump :)

I LOVE the new live format, I've only been able to join for the most recent episode yesterday (I had to skip a meeting at work...don't tell my boss lol), but it's awesome being able to chime in on the conversation and analysis. But as Grace and I pointed out, you guys should get another team member and have them monitor the chat throughout the episodes and call out any noteworthy contributions from the chat group. In any case I'll definitely be trying to make it to more recordings, even if its just to BS with Grace and Mr Blog lol...

Btw...Dammit Rick tell us what Jenner said already!!!

I just had quick comment, from a biological standpoint wouldn't it make sense for the zombies to get "smarter" over time. Following the law of natural selection i think we would see the more lackluster zombies killed first and the zombies with a slightly higher grade of intelligence stay back and survive. Now of course there isn't zombie reproduction so we wouldn't see the passing on of these smarter genes but there would be a larger and larger collection of slightly "more with it" zombies. Just a thought (I havent read the comic so i have no idea if that actually happens) thanks for all the great interviews.
